Happy Holidays from the Adaptive Cultures Team

perspectives Dec 22, 2017

We would like to thank you for being a part of the Adaptive Cultures community this year and for your valuable contribution.

This year has been one of acceleration and opportunity for Adaptive Cultures, full of meaningful and inspiring work with clients who have been ready to embrace the work of cultural evolution. Here are some highlights:

Accreditation:

In 2017 we launched our first practitioner accreditation program in Australia and another in Germany. We are fully booked for our public accreditation program in March 2018 and intend to run an accreditation in Europe for our growing Northern Hemisphere community later in 2018. We are also in discussions about the possibility of accreditations in India and Singapore.

These programs are building the capability of our international community for work that is deeply needed in organisations and institutions.

Diagnostic:

The Adaptive Cultures diagnostic, which measures cultural stage of maturity of both current and aspired cultures, has moved to a new platform. It has deeper data analytics capacity and we have continued to refine the look and feel of the reports. The next version will be launched in early 2018.

Key Insights from our Practitioners and Clients:

It is encouraging to see so many of you continuing to use Adaptive Cultures methods in your organisations. Some of the key themes practitioners and clients have experienced this year include:

  • The importance of perceiving and utilising opportunities to influence cultural evolution in every interaction and intervention. This can range from random conversations to large (or small) structural changesThe need to develop the self-reflective capacity and increased level of personal responsibility and self-agency of everyone in the organisation to support culture evolution
More organisations are understanding that culture is deeply linked with business strategy and purpose. They are perceiving the need for culture, strategy and purpose to be in service of something greater than shareholder return, whether it is the customer, the community or a larger mission
The power of establishing a ‘coalition of the willing’ to enable culture evolution across all facets of an organisation
Deeper awareness that substantive evolution requires both significant compassion for all people and accountability mechanisms for the culture work to be prioritised

Next in 2018:

As our work evolves, our intention in 2018 is to continue to grow and develop Adaptive Cultures in support of your ongoing journey towards greater positive impact in your organisation and your world. Some things to look out for:

  • A book which brings the adaptive cultures methodology and philosophy to life with real-life case studies. This is planned to be launched in 2019
  • Further practitioner accreditations both inside organisations and for the public
  • Expanding and building our international community of culture leaders and practitionersAn Adaptive Cultures card set to complement the mat and diagnostic debriefs in enabling clients to deeply appreciate the adaptive process
A practitioner forum that brings together all practitioners who have been through or are undertaking the Australian accreditation
